Monte Vista Christian is off to its best start in school history at 6-0, matching its single season school record for wins.
I believe back in August we called the Mustangs a sleeper team in the Monterey Bay League.
But if Monte Vista doesn't at least split its final four games, it likely won't make the playoffs.
Three of the four teams remaining are North County, Monterey and Friday's opponent Seaside, who are a combined 14-4, with two of those losses coming against each other.
The combined record of the six teams Monte Vista has played is 9-28-1 -- none of which have winning records.
The problem with a great start is Monte Vista won't sneak up on anyone in the second half of the season.
