King City's defense did it again. It forced four turnovers in a win over Gonzales.
If you're counting, that's 21 turnovers in five league games.
The 5-0 MTAL start is the best since 1983.
But now defending champion Carmel awaits. It is also 5-0, stretching its MTAL winning streak to 17 games.
Do the Mustangs have a shot?
Not if they play like they did against Gonzales.
You can't have the ball inside the 10-yard line three times and not produce points.
This opportunist defense, though, is impressive. I think King City can contain -- I didn't say stop -- Carmel's potent attack.
But I don't know if King City can score on Carmel's vaunted defense.
