Of course not. The Mustangs were outscored 95-15 in their first two games. Yet, during a four game winning streak, the defense has forced 17 turnovers.
North County has to be concerned with its defense, which has now given up 78 points in its last two games. The 45 points it allowed to Seaside equaled its entire season total.
The Condors are an opportunist defense. In their first five games, they created 18 turnovers. But in the last two games, they have only one.
Dating back to last year, Carmel has scored 40 or more points in 15 of its last 16 games. The one game it didn't was its only loss during the run. Here's betting it puts up 40 before halftime today.
It's a fresh start tonight for Hartnell and Monterey Peninsula College as the Coast Conference season begins.
The Panthers were winless in non-conference play while MPC was 1-4. However, the combined non-conference record of the six conference teams was 2-28.
Look for the Lobos to feast on West Valley, who has given up 60 or more points three times this year.
