Alvarez
There is a lot of talent being groomed at the lower levels at Alvarez. Whether it is ready to take the next step this fall is open for debate. But some of that youth is going to get thrown into the mix.
Head coach Ralph Ward has the program pointed in the right direction at the lower levels. That's the right place to start.
But since the Eagles moved into the Tri-County Athletic League four years ago, they've never won a league game. That drought is coming to an end. Playoffs are a great goal. But that might be a stretch for a squad still learning how to compete.
The TCAL is a league of powers. Six of the seven teams have all been to the postseason at least once in the last three years.
But the belief at Alvarez is that it can compete with the elite. Still patience must be preached.
