The system by the Central Coast Section to grade leagues is still flawed.
We place teams into divisions in the postseason solely on enrollment figures.
I'm OK with that, unless it's a smaller school playing in a high profile league like the TCAL or WCAL.
Yet, how can the MTAL and MBL both be 'B' leagues? Some of the schools' enrollment figures in the MBL triple the size of teams in the MTAL.
What we're saying here is enrollment figures are overrated. I agree. So why have them? The power of the league is the key criteria.
Again, there are to many divisions. An 'A' League should play 'A' caliber opponents in the playoffs. That's why they are graded so high. The same for a 'B' League and 'C' League. It creates a fair playing field.
If the MBL and MTAL are equals based on a computer system, then they should be in the same division when the playoffs role around.
