I understand it's cool to arrive fashionably late for anything in Los Angeles.
But halftime of an NBA Championship game?
Empty seats were prevalent around the Staples Center until halftime of Game 1.
I suppose those over inflated prices came down around tipoff.
But now I know why L.A. hasn't had a professional football team for 13 years. The fan base won't support it.
Arriving at a championship game at halftime? I'll never get over that.

John,
Game 1 was on the same day as E3, a MASSIVE video game convention which took place at the Convention Center next door.
If they took everyone at E3 and at Staples on the day, they could create a new city with a population bigger than Monterey.
Foot traffic and car traffic on that day was about as worst as I've ever seen. So I don't fault the people for Game 1.
And before the "get there early" excuses come in, people could have left 3 hours early and still would have had a hard time getting there and then an even harder time finding parking because the E3 attendees took all the spots.
Also, don't use this as a reason why the region doesn't have NFL. It's a NIMBY issue. L.A. would have football this coming season, but the city of Walnut is trying to block the move at all costs.
Good point.
It took me 90 minutes to get from LAX to Staples. But you have to be prepared for that. It's the finals.
