Two days after being selected in the 15th round by the Boston Red Sox, Cal pitcher Michael Bugary has agreed to terms on a contract, and will report to their Class A affiliate in Lowell, Mass. on Sunday.
Bugary began his collegiate career as a first baseman before returning to the mound. After two injury plagued seasons, the left-hander struck out 69 hitters in 49 innings this past spring, making a team high 28 appearances.
While at Monterey High, Bugary hit 15 home runs as a junior and was 9-2 on the mound as a senior in 2005.
