Monterey boys soccer

Since opening the season with a setback, the Toreadores have been unbeatable, owning the longest winning streak in the area at 11 going into tonight's game against Gonzales.
The defense has been filthy, allowing just six goals during the streak, while posting five shutouts.
It's been a committee approach offensively as four different players have five or more goals for the Toreadores, with Juan Arechiga and Mark Diego combining for 15.
Despite seeing his streak of 11 consecutive games of producing at least a point end on Monday, Isaac Loemli leads Monterey in assists with seven and has produced 19 points.
Lomeli and Jose Rios-Lara have combined for 12 goals for Monterey, who won just three games all of last year.
