This time last year Stevenson was struggling for an identity at 3-7.
Entering Tuesday's game at Watsonville, the Pirates have done an about-face at 7-3.
What has changed is Stevenson has an identity, and it starts with sophomore Luke Driscoll, who has already been named to two all-tournament teams.
Driscoll is averaging nearly 21 points a game for the Pirates, knocking down 33 shots from beyond the 3-point arc.
While Stevenson has always been a team that likes the perimeter, production is coming from all over the floor, as Connor Olin leads the team in field goals.
The 6-foot-5 junior and returning all-leaguer is creating mismatches on the outside, as well as inside the paint with his quickness, averaging 13 plus points a night.
Connor Jacobs and his 6-5 frame is a presence in the key while 6-4 Sam Fontaine has given the team another offensive option on the outside.
While the objective before the season started was to outrun and outscore teams, Stevenson's defense, anchored by Honorebel Walker, has held three teams under 40 points.
As the defense progresses, so will the Pirates visions of chasing a Cypress Division title.
