Coming off the programs first league title outright while establishing a school record for wins with 18 last season, the Aztecs have gotten off to a slow start this winter at 2-6.
Then again, Soledad opened last season 1-4.
Soledad was actually 1-5 before beating Alisal (6-4) last week in the North Salinas Sportsmanship Games 60-53.
Was that a turning point in its season? And can it duplicate the feat again tonight at Alisal.
Theresa Chavez erupted for a 27 points in the win for Soledad, with teammate Olivia Fale chipping in with 19.
The Trojans followed up the loss to Soledad with a season high 81 points in defeating King City, as Mikaela Aritsa dropped in 36 points.
Artista has produced 13 or more points in five straight games for Alisal, averaging 20 points a game during that span.
For a dynamic as Artista has been of late, the Trojans are lethal when Karely Apodaca, Dana Cima and Briana Mejia are finding their shots as well.
