No program has had a more explosive start to the season than the Spirits.
No team is anticipating a bigger turnaround than Salinas.
Essentially the teams have traded places going into their non-league battle tonight as Notre Dame is in the Gabilan Division and Salinas has moved down to the Mission.
The rivalry, though, remains epic.
The Spirits have yet to be tested this year in a 5-0 start, with their closest game being a 20-point win.
Salinas has put together a pair of two-game winning streaks, sandwiched around losses to defending Gabilan Division champion Seaside, and a three-point setback to Notre Dame of San Jose.
Sophomore Makenzi LaPorte has provided the Cowboys with consistent offense, while producing on the boards. Jenika Zurita is coming off a 13 point effort while Brooke Cannon scored 12.
Notre Dame won a Pacific Division title last year behind four sophomores, including Angela Leavitt, who leads the team in scoring despite being a late arrival because of cross country.
Kelly Kinion, Mariah Schlapfer and Grace Briley are a part of that fab four title team while freshman Lexi Zenk has made a splash in her first season.
