Mason Foster

 The former Seaside High linebacker is having his best season in the National Football League with a team leading 102 tackles for the Washington Redskins.

 With four games left in the season, the 6-foot-2 Foster needs 23 tackles to surpass his career total of 124 tackles, set in 2016.

 Foster, who is averaging 8.5 tackles a game, is on pace for 136 tackles. His current total is the third  highest of his eight year NFL career.

 The Herald's Defensive Player of the Year in 2006, Foster has two fumble recoveries, an interception and two passes knocked down.

 Foster quarterbacked Seaside to its first Central Coast Section football title in 2006.
