Soledad football

Clearly there is some animosity with the Aztecs making the postseason.
 It's understandable.
 Soledad is 3-7.
There will be programs with six and perhaps seven wins that won't make the playoffs.
But don't blame them. Soledad didn't make up the rules.
What it did was get hot at the right time, closing the Mission Division season with three straight wins to sneak into the No. 3 spot in the division -- an automatic qualifying spot.
The result is the Aztecs are practicing on Monday.
Soledad's record is somewhat misleading. It lost two games by a total of three points -- two games it let slip away late in the fourth quarter.
Turns out those losses were building blocks.
The Aztecs also dropped three games to three league champions a combined 29-1, as well as falling to 8-2 Righetti.
What you have to respect about this group is it didn't quit when it was 0-7. That's a lost season, or so we all thought.
Listen, 3-7 is not a playoff record. Yet, who ever faces them in the first round in Division IV has to be a little nervous.
No one said the postseason isn't flawed. Still, it wouldn't take much to eliminate these kind of issues.
 Stop having automatic seeds.
League champions should be the only automatic qualifiers. From that point, it comes down to points, with 'A' leagues in the upper three divisions. That's a fair playing field.
