King City-San Lorenzo Valley football

Saturday's game
King City (5-4) at San Lorenzo Valley (3-6), 2 p.m.
Knowing one more loss would end any thoughts of extending their season, the postseason began two weeks ago for the Mustangs when they went into must win mood.
Head coach Mac Villanueva took of the training wheels and made some bold decisions offensively. The result has seen King City produce 70 points in its last two wins.
Now comes a rare Saturday afternoon affair, where King City has dropped three of its last four -- all to Carmel.
Minus the forfeits, San Lorenzo Valley is 7-2 this year -- 4-0 on Saturday's. Its only league loss came from Monterey.
Stevie Markey has thrown for nearly 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns for the Cougars. Four receivers have three or more touchdown catches, with Julian Auldridge having caught seven.
The Mustangs defense has done a good job against the pass most of the year, although they did give up four touchdowns threw the air two weeks ago against Pacific Grove.
King City's issue has been taking care of the ball. In its four setbacks, it has turned it over 16 times. That number shrinks to nine in its five wins.
Moving Dylan Oliveros all around the field has created headaches for opponents. Playing the 'slash' role, the senior has thrown two touchdowns, rushed for a pair and caught one in his last two games.
Having surpassed his entire season total for carries in his last two games, Aaron Leonard has rushed for 236 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
