CCS football

Commissioners from all the sections in the state will meet on Tuesday to decide the fate of the CIF football playoffs.
Several games up and down the state were postponed this past weekend because of poor air quality for the fires in southern and northern California, including at least six more CCS games tonight.
The most likely scenario is pushing the postseason back a week for all sections.
Another option could be each section voting on who advances to the state divisional finals after their section championships, and eliminating the northern and southern California bowl games.
That's how it was previously done.
And there is the option of just canceling the postseason after the section finals -- the most unlikely of all options.
Because Division IV and V don't move on past the CCS finals, their time line isn't as urgent.
In fact, if King's Academy and Del Mar can get their game in tonight in Sunnyvale, there would be no reason for the Division V semifinals not to resume this weekend, since both games will be held on the Monterey Peninsula.
Gonzales and Carmel are one half of the bracket while Monterey is awaiting the King's Academy-Del Mar winner.
At this time, that game is on, as is Soledad visiting Independence tonight in San Jose in Division IV. However, the rest of that DIV won't play until Friday.
