 King City and Pacific Grove weren't league rivals in cross country this year for the first time in over 50 years.
 But the two rivals will get reacquainted Saturday as contenders for team honors at the Central Coast Section Division IV boys championships at Crystal Springs in Belmont.
 The field is loaded in Division IV with four of the sections top 15 ranked teams, among them being No. 3 Scotts Valley and No. 6 King City.
 Anchored by Esteban Deniz, the Mustangs were dominating this year in the Mission Division and in several invitationals throughout the section.
 Pacific Grove was second to Alisal at the Gabilan Division finals two weeks ago, with Will Stefanou capturing individual honors.
 Don't discount Marina, who went to the state meet last year as a third place finisher in Division IV. Senior Christopher Plascencia is among the top distance runners in the section.
 Plascencia is coming off his second straight league title. He is among a small group of runners that have dipped under 16 minutes this year over three mile courses.
 Chasing a third trip to the state Division IV meet will be Palma senior Thomas Padilla, who finished third at the Gabilan Division finals.
 Greenfield will look to repeat the feat and advance to the Division III state meet. Rigo Garcia, Luis Martinez and Mauricio Arias are holdovers from last years team.
 Gabilan Division champion Alisal hopes to extend its season into Thanksgiving Weekend. Last year Peter Maciel reached the state meet as an individual.
 Notre Dame distance ace Angela Leavitt will chase a third straight state meet appearance in Division V, with Stevenson sophomore Anna Watson on her heels.
 Carmel's Colleen Lang and Rachel Suess will look to duplicate the feat and return to the state meet in Division IV while Seaside's girls team is coming off a Cypress Division title.
 Faith Mora is in contention in Division III for North County, while sophomore Layla Ruiz will be one of the favorites in Division I for Watsonville.
