Recent University of Pennsylvania graduate Josh Pompan returned to where he honed his tennis skills at a youth at Chamisal Tennis Club, capturing the Sam Linder Tennis Championships.
The former York School standout and 2014 Central Coast Section Singles champion went undefeated in the tournament, posting a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 win in the finals to earn the winners check.
Pompan was in a field of 45 of the top players in Northern California.
A two-time team captain at Penn, Pompan won 98 matches in four years for the prestigious Ivy League school, posting the most career wins in nearly two decades.
