College track

 The Panthers women's track team has a six point lead going into next weekends Northern California finals.
 Lauryn Orozco finished third in the 10,000, one of four Panthers to place in the top eight. Jocelyn Cervantes was fourth, followed by Maria Aceves (7th) and Monica Ruelas (8th).
 Cervantes, Ruelas, Orozco and Aceves also advanced to the finals in the 1,500 and 5,000, while Haley Romero will compete in the 100 hurdles, long jump and triple jump.
 Sherise Robinson advanced in the 400, javelin and long jump, as did Dakota Peebles in the 400 low hurdles, Tysell Johnson-Hill in the shot, Anesa Vanderlipe in the pole vault, triple jump and long jump, Idalys Romero in the javelin and discus, Leilani Russell in the javelin and Nina Arias in the 1,500.
 Ricky Esqueda won the Northern California 10,000 for Hartnell, with Williams Ordaz placing fourth and Nick Merillana fifth. Esqueda and Ordaz are state bound.
 Esqueda advanced to the finals in the 5,000 and 1,500, as did Adam Alnazar, Jonathan Saldana and Nick Merillana.
 Saldana and Christian Aldape both advanced in the 3,000 steeplechase, as did Wyatt Connor in the shot, Manuel Gallardo in the discus, Jack Fling in the pole vault, high jump and triple jump, Henn in the pole vault, Jordan Finister in the triple jump, and Fernando Garcia in the long jump.
MPC >> Caleb Llorin-Hernandez has advanced to the Northern California finals in the 800, clocking a season best 1:56.81.
 King City High grad Natalie Robinson is going to the finals in the women's 400 low hurdles, as is MPC's women's 400 and 1,600 women's relay teams.
