CCS swimming

Henry Blaul's quest to get back to the CIF State swimming championships begins Friday when he competes in the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM at the Central Coast Section prelims.
The York School senior, who will swim next year at Northwestern University, comes into the meet ranked No. 4 in the 100 breast at 57.03.
Last year Blaul finished fourth at the section finals, clocking 56.09.
A three-time Mission Trail Athletic League champion, Blaul has some work to do in the 200 IM, as he is ranked No. 23 at 1:57.79.
That time, however, is somewhat misleading as Blaul swam 1:50.85 last year in finishing fourth at the section finals.
Last year Blaul was ninth in the state in the 100 breast at 56.29 and seventh in the 200 IM at 1:50.94.
Palma's Nick Sullivan will go into the section finals ranked 10th in the 200 free (1:44.48) and 11th in the 500 free (4:45.71).
The Monterey Bay League champion finished 10th last year in the CCS finals in the 200 free.
UCLA water polo bound Will Morgan of Stevenson is ranked 11th in the 50 free (21.88) and 16th in the 100 free (48.32).
The top 10 marks in Friday's prelims at Santa Clara University advance to the section finals on Saturday.
Carmel's Jake Dorn, who put up an All-American consideration score in winning the Mission Trail Athletic League one-meter diving title last week, will be among the elite.
