CSUMB baseball

 Perfection doesn't last forever.
Yet, a record breaking 8-0 start by the Otters got your attention.
Now, how will CSUMB react after dropping its first two games last week in conference play?
The Otters return to the road Saturday where they are undefeated, facing Cal State Los Angeles in a pair doubleheaders over the weekend.
CSUMB is hitting .342 as a team through 10 games, with Kyle Guerra spraying the ball around at a .474 clip, while Pacific Grove product Kyle Czaplak is hitting .375 with a homer.
San Benito grad Jacob Tonascia is hitting .421, sharing the team lead with Hayden Duer in homers (3) and runs batted in (15).
Gabe Katich has been masterful in three starts, posting a 3-0 record with 14 strikeouts in 16 innings, sporting a 3.38 earned run average.
Soledad grad AJ Banuelos has made three appearances in relief, and has a win and save to his credit while Greg Steinbeck has allowed one earned run in his last six innings of work.
Five different players have saves for CSUMB, including Fabing Connor, who returned to the hill this year, sporting a 1-1 record with one save and a 2.76 ERA.
