Alvarez-Alisal baseball

Right now the road to the Pacific Division title still goes through the defending champion Trojans.
Alvarez will look to snap a three-game losing streak to its rivals today when the two meet at Alisal.
The Trojans run to a title last year included beating Alvarez twice in the final week to overtake them.
Projected as the preseason favorites before the season began, the Eagles fell 5-2 to Alisal Wednesday in their league opener.
While graduation did strip Alisal of three all-leaguers, Danny Villegas has stepped up on the mound and at the plate, tossing a gem in the win over Alvarez.
Kai Tovas and Eddie Garcia both drove in runs against Alvarez in the first meeting. Sophomore Sal Lopez could get the start today.
Dating back to last year's magical run to a title, the Trojans have won five straight league games at home, with the last loss ironically coming from Alvarez.
The Eagles sharpened their bats Thursday with an 11-2 non-league win over Aptos. Fabian Herrera is a returning all leaguer, while Angel Rodriguez had a 10 strikeout effort earlier this year.
