Northern California Playoffs
West Hills (18-7) at Monterey Peninsula (15-13), 7 p.m.
The Lobos are back in the postseason after a one year absence, earning a spot with a season ending win over rival Hartnell.
MPC will need to ride the wave of momentum against a West Hills squad that finished fourth in the Central Valley Conference.
While these two schools are rivals in football, there's not a lot of history on the hardwood, having not faced each other in over five years.
While West Hills is limping into the postseason with three straight losses, it is 7-4 on the road this season.
The Falcons are a high scoring offense, averaging 87 points a game. Four players are dropping in over 11 points a night, including forward Darius Scott at 15.8.
MPC's attack starts with point guard Elijah Nesbit, who for the second straight year, is among the state leaders in assists at 5.6.
DeShawnte Collins and Marcus Wallace are both averaging over 11 points a game for MPC, while Pacific Grove graduate Brad Sendell is hitting a team high 43 percent from the 3-point ace.
While the Lobos are averaging just 73.1 points a night, the defense is giving up 66.1, which is 14th in the state.
