Hartnell track


 Fernando Garcia leaped a personal best 21-feet-11 1/2 inches Saturday to win the long jump for the Hartnell College track team at the Monterey Peninsula College Open.
 Teammate Ricky Esqueda won the 5,000 (15:16.99) and was second in the 3,000 (8:58.87). Brandon Lep was second in the 400 hurdles (57.80), as was Adam Alnazer in the 800 (2:03.09).
 Alisal grad Rex Tomimbang took second in the 110 high hurdles (16.01), as did Alfredo Mejia in the 5,000.
 North Salinas product Sherise Robinson won the 800 (2:27:13), while Leslie Oseguera captured the 1,500 (5:07.59) and Jocelyn Cervantes the 5,000 in a state leading 19:32.66.
 Tyshell Johnson Hill outdistanced the field in the shot put (35-9 1/4) while Anesa Vanderlipe leaped 34-5 1/2 in the triple jump. Dakota Peebles was third in the 400 low hurdles.
 Oseguera led four teammates under the Northern California provisional mark in the 1,500, as she was followed by Yvette Tavarez (5:10.36), Monica Ruelas (5:14.93), Lauryn Orozco (5:16.71) and Maria Aceves (5:18.39).
