Statement: Having been throttled by 40 on Wednesday, Seaside knocked 14-1 San Benito from the unbeaten ranks in league with a 16-point win.
Most impressive: Pacific Grove going to 4-0 in the MTAL, rallying for a 48-43 win over Stevenson in a battle of unbeatens.
Comeback: Alvarez erasing a 13-point second half deficit behind Victor Hernandez to beat Gilroy 61-53.
Dramatics: Carter Aldrete hitting a basket with four seconds left to lift Monterey to a 50-49 win over Monte Vista.
Individual effort: Leo Partido coming off the bench to score his first points of the season for North County, hitting three 3-point goals.
Defensive demons: Palma holding Christopher to 19 points through three quarters in a 51-31 win.
Growing pains: Soledad is still searching for its first win, having dropped four games by five points or less.
