Salinas-North Salinas girls hoops

 This game intrigues me.
I did not see anyone challenging reigning champion North Salinas for supremacy in the Gabilan Division this year.
I also didn't see Salinas opening the year with three straight wins.
The last two undefeated teams in the Gabilan Division get reacquainted Tuesday at North Salinas, who has won 12 straight league games dating back to last year.
Ironically, the last team to beat North Salinas in league play was Salinas, having knocked them off 59-51 on Jan. 17, 2013.
The Vikings have run over teams in Gabilan Division play this year by an average of 26.5 points a game, relying on a pressing defense to create easy baskets in transition.
Despite the loss of four starters to graduation, a revamped Salinas squad has put the ball into the hands of Danilla Villegas, who is a sniper on the outside.
North Salinas is aware of that, having made a habit out of shutting down the opposing teams top scoring threat. In other words, someone else for Salinas has to step up to make this a game.
