An argument can be made that this has been the best rivalry this season in sports.
Let me take you back to football season when the Breakers needed a touchdown in the final seconds to beat King City 42-41.
The roles were reversed in boys cross country when King City avenged a narrow dual meet lost to Pacific Grove, beating them at the Mission Trail Athletic League finals.
And on Wednesday, Pacific Grove used five overtime points from Luke Lowell to beat King City 54-41.
This actually goes back to last spring when King City held the undefeated and two-time Central Coast Section champion Breakers baseball team to just one run in a 1-0 loss.
