Not since 2008 have the Otters had a winning conference record.
Yet, since opening the conference season with three straight losses, CSUMB has gone 2-3 to climb into the tournament hunt.
Ryan Nitz and sophomore Alex Fertig are averaging a combined 31.1 points a game for the Otters, while Nitz is shooting 47 percent from beyond the 3-point arc.
Kris Gallop has given CSUMB production in the paint, averaging just under eight points and eight rebounds a game.
Defensively the Otters have struggled, having allowed 90 or more points in two of their last three games.
