Pacific Grove-Sacred Heart Prep football

Central Coast Section Division IV finals
Saturday at Independence High, San Jose, 7 p.m.
No. 7 Pacific Grove (11-1) vs. No. 1 Sacred Heart Prep (11-1)
Call the postseason the redemption tour for Pacific Grove.
Having made amends last week with a CCS record tying 77 points in ending a six-game losing streak to Carmel, Pacific Grove finds another familiar opponent in its path in Sacred Heart Prep of Atherton.
No doubt, the stakes are a little higher this time.
The two teams faced each other in last season's Division IV first round with the defending champion Gators rolling to a 48-15 win.
Sacred Heart has made the CCS playoffs their version of the Monterey Peninsula tour, having ended the seasons of Seaside and Monterey by a combined score of 69-19.
Of course, that's eight points fewer than the Breakers produced last week in one game.
Yet, while Pacific Grove is averaging over 50 points a game this season, the Gators have held four teams without a touchdown.
Sacred Heart is a physical team that shuts down opponents on the ground. Pacific Grove is a team that can produce points through the air.
The Gators like to control the ball on the ground. Pacific Groves likes to score quickly, needing five plays or fewer on drives last week to score.

Sacred Heart Prep lines should be too much for PG on both sides of the ball. Plus they can stop both the run and pass. They are a very sound team. Willbe surprised if PG can stop theiur rushing attack.May not be a very good matchup for PG. Always a shot, but SHP probably wins this one by 2-3 TDs. I like the PG offensive skill players, but defense is going to have a tough time, and SHP defense is the best they have seen all year by a wide margin.

It still will be a surpise though that either winner gets a bowl play-in bid. It's looking like the NCS winner (both Mrin Catholic and El Cerrito) are at another level than either SHP or PG or any other D3 team in northern CA, and the Northern Section winner could get in with the politics. The CCS winner could get in, but Carmel would have had a great shot if they ran the table. CCS Open winner and possibly DII if St Francis wins would probably get in and CCS D4 would be a long shot if two other CCS tems get playin bid.

The tab hanging off the edge of the table with the rest of the four parts of it to try to come across as the table (pictured) triangular "football" get. After scoring a team created by fingers "rules" of the opponent, as it rises on the ball with a flick of a project becomes an "extra points" you can try.
