Three freshmen and four sophomores are expected to help fill out the roster this winter for Pacific Grove, who was 10-3 in league play last season.
The significant seven will surround returning starters Luke Lowell and John Buttrey. Last season Lowell averaged just under 14 points a game for the Breakers.
Lowell will be the center of attention on offense, producing double digits in 12 games last year, including a season high 22 points in the postseason against Harker.
Pacific Grove may have to rely on its defensive prowess until this young group matures offensively, or until it finds another option to compliment Lowell.
Once again, the Breakers had no creams puffs on their non-league schedule. Yet, trial by fire in the past has enabled them to compete for supremacy in the MTAL.
