How can you not like the Padres making it three straight Mission Trail Athletic League titles?
The teams top three leading scorers are back, including post John Stivers, who was the MTAL's Most Valuable Player last year as a freshman.
 The 6-foot-3 Stivers continues to grow into his frame and develop post up moves in the paint. He has quick feet and a nice jump shot.
 In addition, the backcourt features the return of Connor Marden, giving the team another scoring option on the perimeter.
 Yet, where Carmel made its mark last season was on defense. During its title run, it held nine teams under 45 points.
