Candlestick Park memories

Having attended 121 49ers games at The Stick, I've got a few memories stored in the bank to share over the 17 week regular season as the days of Candlestick Park are coming to a close.

Having dropped 12 pounds in 12 days, Michael Carter wanted to be a little quicker during the 49ers Super Bowl drive in 1988.
And while the former Olympic medalist in the shot put didn't resemble a sprinter with a 328 pound frame, he showed off his wheels in a playoff game against the Washington Redskins.
The pro bowl nose tackle got his hands on an interception and raced -- more like lumbered -- 61 yards for a touchdown in a 28-10 win.
Carter, who got his hands on the ball after Charles Haley deflected the pass, said afterwards that he could barely breath, let alone stand as teammates mobbed him in the end zone.
