Preseason favorites in the MBL's Pacific Division, the Eagles started last year on a school record 9-0 run before stumbling in the Gabilan Division.
While graduation stripped them of their leading scorer, the rest of a youthful lineup is intact and a year older, including Edric Gamble, who quarterbacked the football team to a school record 11 win season.
Gamble is explosive off the dribble drive, averaging just under eight points a game last season for the Eagles as a sophomore.
Production inside will fall into the hands of 6-foot-3 Lanier King and 6-2 junior Arturo Solano, both of which earned all tournament honors last year in the Eagles Classic.
Alvarez is a deeper team this year. Several players will contribute, which could make its tenure in the Pacific Division brief.
