Apparently a desperate team was on the field in a 45-8 regular season finale win over Monte Vista, clinching a playoff spot.
We've seen this team before, when it humbled Salinas 34-5 four weeks ago.
The team that showed up against Monte Vista is a unit that can make some noise in the Division IV playoffs -- even as a No. 8 seed.
But can Avila bottle this effort for the postseason?
Or are the Spartans teasing us again?
