PG-Carmel recap

In the teams last meeting 11 days ago, Carmel ran off the last 5:45 of the clock to salvage a 40-35 win over the host Breakers, capturing the MTAL title in what was then a battle of unbeatens.
There were six lead changes in the first half with Pacific Grove striking first on the second play of the game. It had touchdowns of 47, 37, 35, 71 and 27 yards in that game.
Yet, the difference in the game ultimately was Carmel's ability to control the ball and two field goals by Max Yeater, including a 44-yarder that hit the upright and curled in.
There was 928 yards in total offense. What was significant was the difference in the amount of plays both teams ran. Carmel had 72 offensive plays to the Breakers 38.
Defense, which didn't exist in the first three quarters, clamped down in the fourth as six punts ensued before Carmel ran out the clock.
