North Salinas football

If it hadn't been for Alvarez's 10-game turnaround, or Marina ending a 27-game losing streak this year, the attention would be on North Salinas.
The Vikings have won five more games this year than last. The seven overall wins are more than the last four years combined.
Two of North Salinas' three loses are to Alvarez and Carmel, who are a combined 20-0.
The reward for 15 seniors that have been up since their sophomore years is a trip to the Division II playoffs.
The Vikings did it with defense in some games, and offense in others, as evident by Justyn Gutierrez setting a new school record with six touchdown passes in one game against Gilroy.
