Division IV semifinals
Friday's game
No. 7 Pacific Grove (10-1) vs. No. 3 Carmel (11-0), 7 p.m. at Monterey Peninsula College.
Instead of 'The Shoe', the sequel is being called 'The Boot'.
Someone is going to be turning in uniforms on Saturday.
Who is up for debate?
It's tough to beat a team twice in the same season, let alone 14 days between their last meeting.
Neither Carmel or Pacific Grove have ever lost a CCS semifinal game.
For the MTAL champion Padres, avoiding the big play on defense is critical. In the teams first meeting on Nov. 15, Pacific Grove had touchdowns of 48, 37, 35, 71 and 27 yards.
At the same time, there can not be a discrepancy in plays. Two weeks ago Carmel ran 72 plays to Pacific Grove's 38 in a 40-35 win.
Defenses were a non-factor until the fourth quarter when neither team could score. I think defense plays a bigger role in creating shorter fields for the offenses.

Carmel wins 42-28. Just my prediction. While I'm at it, Monterey over SHP 21-15.
Well, I was close...duohhhh!! Congrats PG.
I guess your 0 for 2 Monterey finally exposed.
