The problem with pinning your hopes on playing for a state title is what do you do when those dreams are dashed with an early season loss?
A state title becomes a long shot. But there have to be other goals -- like defending your league title, your CCS divisional title.
One comment I overheard from players for Seaside was "we've got to beat Palma."
That's in Week 9. We're in Week 3.
There are five games in front of you. North County is no cream puff. Looking ahead will cripple most teams.
