Adjustments were made when adversity fell upon Monterey on Friday night. That's a sign of a maturing team with senior leadership.
I'm not sure Monterey would have bounced back last year after surrounding a touchdown in the first 11 seconds of the game, then pinned inside its 5-yard line on the ensuing kickoff.
No finger pointing, no screaming obscenities on the sidelines this year. Instead, the Toreadores calmly regrouped, beat a good team and are now 2-0.
