Ejections not warranted

A scrimmage or jamboree is a contest under California Interscholastic Federation bylaws. Eligibility and sportsmanship issues do apply.
Meaning ejections can be handed out if officials deem so.
No one was ejected from last week's Salinas Football Jamboree when Alvarez and North Salinas got into a minor melee.
While a handful of players did leave the bench, which can translate into an automatic ejection, no punches were thrown and players shook hands afterwards.
Players should understand, though, that they caught a break from officials and it can't happen again.
