The Eagles 40-point eruption Friday marked the first time they have scored 40 or more points since manufacturing 54 against Monterey on Oct. 26 of 2002.
Alvarez went on to capture the Monterey Bay League title, its last postseason appearance.
Yet, before we get to ahead of ourselves, keep in mind that the Eagles have won their last two season openers, only to drop their next nine games.
Maybe because Alvarez is so young, it is oblivious to the programs past. But there is something different about this year's squad.
Most coaches speak highly of the Eagles talent.
A win next week against King City could ignite this squad.
