Five weeks after the football season officially ended, there are still three vacant coaching jobs in Monterey County at Pacific Grove, Monterey and Soledad — with a fourth possibly looming.
Pacific Grove and Monterey are expecting in-house hirings. Soledad will be going on its fifth coach in five years.
If former Monterey coach Pete Noble resurfaces on the sidelines next fall, it won't be as a high school coach. At least one college program has already offered him a job.
