Real athletic heros

Seconds after a young girl was shot in the stands after a King City girls soccer game, Eder Chavez rushed over, picked her up and took her to a friends car to the hospital.
The King City cross country and soccer standouts quick reaction may have saved the girls life. His teammate Alex Serrato, went over and aided the other teenager that was shot until paramedics arrived.
Nevermind that both could have been in the line of fire. No still know the shooters motive. Or that neither knew the individuals that were shot. It was an heroic achievement.
"In my 41 years at King City, we've never had anything like this at an event,'' King City athletic director Ken Kline said. "The individuals that were shot had no gang ties."
Nevertheless, King City will move its soccer games back to the afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
