It hasn't been brought up. But it's certainly worth mentioning as we close out 2008.
If you haven't noticed, Monterey has won a few league titles over the last year.
It just didn't claim a Monterey Bay League football title. Monterey also captured a girls volleyball crown and a boys cross country title this past fall.
This coming on the heels of Monterey winning MBL titles in the spring in baseball, softball, boys and girls track and field, boys and girls swimming, boys volleyball and having an individual champion in tennis.
If I'm doing my math right, the Toreadores won 10 league titles and one CCS title in boys track in 2008.
One last note.
The boys basketball team has won nine straight games since losing one of its better players to a broken wrist. And the girls program has one of the best players in the area.
Don't pick against them in league play.
