If the Kansas City Chiefs had won Sunday's game - which they gave away - I believe Herm Edwards' job would have been secure for one more season.
Now I'm not so sure.
Blowing a 21-3 second half lead at home and losing by one point in the final seconds could be the final straw.
There have been rumblings that ownership isn't excited about the direction that the Monterey High graduate elected to take in rebuilding this team.
Granted the Chiefs have been competitive in nine of their last 10 games. The players are clearly playing for their coach.
But losing 21 of your last 23 games dating back to last year isn't encouraging.
This is going to be a good team. But unless the Chiefs win one of their final two, Edwards may not be around to reap the benefits of two painful seasons of rebuilding.
