You have to love the Yankees. They sign pitcher CC Sabathia to an over inflated contract, virtually bidding against themselves to lure him to the East Coast.
New York landed a pitcher that has thrown over 7,000 pitches the last two years, pushing 300 pounds. Sounds like a perfect fit for a team that signs players that don't perform in the postseason.
Yet, if it's true that Sabathia didn't want to go, but was persuaded by the Players Union because taking $50 million less to go to L.A. would set the bar for free agents, that's pressure.
And it's wrong.
Free agency is suppose to be freedom of choice.
