No longer will Monterey have to here Seaside is in their heads -- from their own student body.
The Toreadores punished their neighbors in the trenches and running back Markeen Williams breezed by them like a sprinter that has competed in a state track meet.
And now the perpetual trophy is coming back to Monterey for the first time in nine years.
Before the first quarter was over, the Toreadores had scored more points (14) then they had in the three previous meetings between the two rivals.
Two drives, two plays, two touchdowns.
Now can Monterey bounce back for the postseason? Because this team has the makeup for an extended run.
The rivalry game puts out so much adrenaline that it drains both teams mentally. Last year both got knocked out in the first round of the playoffs, despite having home games.
Relish the title. But don't make it your season.

Seems carmel wins the shoe about as often as readers comment on your blog...
You're a real funny man
Miles Wide seems to be miles off. Im assuming Miles Wide was bitter about the blog posted about the PG coach. Does he forget that for the last 6 yrs the main sum of press coming out of the MTAL was about PG and written by the man who administers this blog. It only seems reasonable for a coach to exhibit sportsmanship in both winning and losing. It is only high school football afterall. Lastly Miles Wide if you are going to post a response to a blog why dont you post it on the one you wish to discuss instead of one of no relation.
