Football

No rhyme or reason.
But perfection for the third time in four weeks has me 75-13-1.
Salinas at Andrew Hill: I know Andrew Hill is 10-0. But I question the strength of its schedule. I believe playing five playoff bound teams in the regular season will benefit the Cowboys in the postseason. Salinas.
Palma at Oak Grove: The Chieftains first CCS Open Division title came against Oak Grove in 2000. The defending CCS champion Eagles have won 22 straight games. Palma is one play and one extra point from being undefeated. Oak Grove.
Valley Christian at North Salinas: The reality is it didn't matter where you were seeded in the Open Division. This is the deepest field ever. The Vikings have blitzed teams all season. That won't work against Valley Christian. Valley Christian.
Leland at Monterey: Practicing on Thanksgiving would be an early Christmas gift for retiring coach Pete Noble. Markeen Williams is one of the more dynamic backs in the section. The Toreadores defense will limit Leland's options. Monterey
Seaside at Los Gatos: I liked the Spartans chances in the Small School Division. I'm not so upbeat in the Medium Division. Plus Seaside has been a mash unit the last five weeks: Los Gatos.
Sacred Heart Cathedral at Carmel: Some reward for a No. 2 seed. A West Catholic Athletic League power. I'm not waving the white flag for Carmel. But the only way it stays in this game is to engage in a shootout. Sacred Heart.
Pacific Grove at Scotts Valley: Scotts Valley's only loss was to a team from Texas. The Breakers were forced to moved a 270-pound lineman to fullback. Injuries have decimated Pacific Grove. And it hasn't beaten a team outside the MTAL all year. Scotts Valley.
