Tuesday could be Gary Figueroa's last game as head coach of the Salinas boys water polo team.
A 1984 Olympic silver medalist in water polo, Figueroa has told the team he is not returning next fall, siting the need to spend more time at CSU-Monterey Bay, where he also coaches water polo.
Figueroa has put water polo on the map in Monterey County. Last year Salinas reached the CCS semifinals. It'll face Palo Alto Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the first round of the Division I playoffs at Santa Catalina.
