Major League Baseball wants to shorten its season, but can't get the owners or players union to trim a 162 game schedule back to 154.
That's lost revenue.
Here's a simple idea. Bring back doubleheaders. But make them day-night doubleheaders. Meaning your are still getting two games worth of coin.
Schedule five home doubleheaders for each team. That shorten's the season by 10 days. Had the World Series been played 10 days earlier in Philadelphia, the weather was in the 80's instead of the 30's.
