Volleyball showdown

Seldom do you see Notre Dame get rattled. But there was clearly frustration with its inability to stop Salinas' Sarah Reams, who dropped 23 kills on a vaunted defense in a 3-1 win.
The two teams will meet again. Notre Dame will realize that today. But grabbing that first match can set the tone, particularly for a program that may have still been searching for an identity.
What's clear is Salinas found it. The target is on their backs and it should be. Its last two wins have come against San Benito (the defending champions) and Notre Dame (the pre-season favorites).
